Public Health Endorses the California Department of Public Health’s Immunization Recommendations for the 2026-2027 Respiratory Virus Season
September 9, 2026: Everyone in LA County is encouraged to stay protected against COVID-19, influenza, and RSV as the respiratory virus season approaches.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) immunization recommendations for the 2026–2027 respiratory virus season and encourages people in Los Angeles County to use seasonal immunization as an important tool to protect themselves, their families and the broader community.
California’s recommendations, developed in collaboration with the West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA), reflect a broad consensus among professional medical and public health organizations on the protective benefits of immunization against respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
