***Doses administered refer to those given by LA County (excluding Long Beach and Pasadena) providers. It includes non-LA County residents who have been vaccinated in LA County.

◊Second doses and additional/booster doses (including bivalent booster doses) are included in the total doses administered value. Additional doses are not shown in the bar chart.

◊Number of additional Moderna/Pfizer doses administered (3+ doses for ages 5+) or Moderna/Pfizer/J&J booster doses administered by LAC providers. These additional or booster doses are defined as those administered after 8/13/2021 (or after 9/01/2022 for bivalent booster doses) and ≥ 24 days after series completion.

5-11 year old additional doses and 6 months-4 year old doses may be highly variable due to on-going record clean ups conducted by the State in CAIR notably when a new eligibility group or dose has been added.
  • Residents Eligible and Vaccinated with Updated Booster Dose includes only eligible LAC residents (those with a minimum of a Moderna/Pfizer/J&J/Novavax vaccine series AND ≥ 2 months have passed since their last dose) who received a bivalent booster dose on or after 9/01/2022.
  • Vaccination data are analyzed from the California Immunization Registry (CAIR) for the age group selection of LA County residents. Due to ongoing updates to vaccine recipient addresses, the vaccination estimates for cities/communities can fluctuate. In addition, the number of vaccinations reported in recent days may be incomplete.

Notes:
  • The dashed line is a linear trend projected into the future, based off the last complete week of data. Data shown are binned by their weekly totals.
  • For the "Received 1+ Dose" chart, cumulative totals are given for the number of people in a button-selected age group (6+ months, 5+ years, 12+ years, 6 months-4 years, 5-11 years, 12-17 years, 65+ years) vaccinated with at least 1 dose divided by the relevant age group population. For the "Fully Vaccinated" chart, cumulative totals indicate the number of people in the button-selected age group who have completed a vaccination series divided by the relevant age group population. For the "Received 1+ additional dose" charts, cumulative totals refer to the number of people in a button-selected age group who, by that date, received 1+ additional dose following their primary vaccination series, divided by the relevant age group population.

City/Community Vaccination Coverage by Age Group and Race/Ethnicity
The purpose of these PDF files is to provide communities with vaccination coverage information for subsets of their population (specific race/ethnicity and age groups). These data can be used to tailor vaccination outreach efforts led by community officials or other agencies serving the community. Please review the ReadMe file for more details about the methodology.

Estimated Progress by Race/Ethnicity

These projections likely overestimate the rate of vaccination progress for each group.
When comparing age groups, note that vaccination rates typically slow a few weeks after the group becomes eligible. Consequently, younger groups (more recently eligible), are expected to have significantly lower vaccination rates than shown.

Select an ethnicity to update the chart. If you select an age group, you can also choose to display daily vaccination rates.

Notes:
  • Data are presented for LA County residents for whom both age and race/ethnicity data are available from the California Immunization Registry (CAIR).
  • Dashed lines are linear trends projected into the future, based on the vaccination rate from the last week of daily data. Daily data are presented for accurate inclusion of eligibility dates for each age group.
  • Cumulative totals are given for the number of people vaccinated divided by the relevant population. For "Received 1+ dose," this refers to people with at least one dose, and for "Fully vaccinated," this refers to people who have completed their primary vaccination series (two doses for Moderna/Pfizer/Novavax, three doses for Pfizer (age 6m-4) or one dose for J&J). For "Received 1+ additional dose," this refers to people who have received 1+ additional dose following primary vaccination series completion. For “Eligible and received updated booster dose,” this refers to people who are eligible (those with a minimum of a Moderna/Pfizer/J&J/Novavax vaccine series completion AND ≥ 2 months have passed since their last dose) who received a bivalent booster dose on or after 9/01/2022
  • Charts display the following: When the drop-down list value, "Received 1+ dose" is selected, the persons vaccinated with at least one dose of vaccine is displayed. When the drop-down list value, “Fully Vaccinated” is selected, the persons who have completed their primary vaccination series (two doses for Moderna/Pfizer/Novavax, three doses for Pfizer (age 6m-4) or one dose for J&J) is displayed. When the drop-down list value, "Received 1+ additional dose", is selected, the persons who received 1+ additional dose on or after 8/13/2021 (or after 9/01/2022 for bivalent booster doses) and ≥ 24 days after primary vaccination completion. When the drop-down list value, “Eligible and Received Updated Booster Dose”, is selected, the persons eligible (those with a minimum of a Moderna/Pfizer/J&J/Novavax vaccine series completion AND ≥ 2 months have passed since their last dose) who received a bivalent booster dose on or after 9/01/2022 is displayed with the date corresponding to the date of bivalent booster dose vaccination.
  • The percent of Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders, Multi-Race, and Other race/ethnicity populations that are vaccinated are not presented due to likely inaccurate population estimates. The aggregate number of people vaccinated in these groups is available here.
  • Unlike the 'Vaccinations By Race/Ethnicity' table at the bottom of the page, unreliable ages (i.e. less than 6 months of age) are not included in this table since the exact age group of these individuals is uncertain.
  • American Indian/Alaska Native (AIAN) values may be overestimated due to the inclusion of some Multi-race individuals. Population data are likely underestimated due to primarily consisting of those who identify as AIAN only.
  • 6 months-4 year old doses may be highly variable due to on-going record clean ups conducted by the State in CAIR notably when a new eligibility group or dose has been added.
  • Vaccination estimates of "≥ 95%" indicate that population vaccination coverage metrics are capped at 95%.

*People for whom both age and race/ethnicity data are available from California Immunization Registry (CAIR). Unreliable ages (i.e. less than 6 months of age) are included in the table as data validation efforts indicate the individuals are highly likely older than 6 months of age.
**Number vaccinated may be overestimated due to inclusion of some Multi-race individuals. Population data are likely underestimated due to primarily consisting of those who identify as AIAN only. Percent of population vaccinated, therefore, may be an overestimate.
***Although numerator data for the Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Multi-Race and Other categories are presented, percent of population vaccinated is not calculated due to likely inaccurate estimates.
