Zika Information on Travel

Los Angeles County has no local transmission of Zika, but other places in the world do. If you are traveling to an area with Zika, you are at risk of getting sick. Be sure that you and your family are safe from Zika by checking the CDC website before you leave.

Photo of pregnant womanIf you are pregnant, do not visit areas with Zika, including Mexico and Central and South America. Zika can be passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus and can cause birth defects.

The best thing to do is wait until after your baby is born to travel to an area with Zika.

Zika virus is currently spreading in Mexico and Central and South America. Before your trip, check the CDC website for the latest disease updates for the country you are visiting. Find out if it's safe to travel!
