Parent and Student Ambassador Programs
Parent Ambassador Program
We know parents have questions about COVID-19 and the COVID-19 vaccines. Is the vaccine safe for my teenager? What about for my young child? Are my children protected from COVID-19 at school?
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is looking for parents who want to make a difference in their community through the Parent Ambassador Program. The program offers interested parents an opportunity to learn more about COVID-19. Learn about variants, how the vaccines work and ways to encourage others to stay safe to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Parents play a vital role in protecting their children, families, friends, and neighbors. Help protect those around you - become a Parent Ambassador. Become a trusted source of information on COVID-19, vaccines, masks, and other safety measures. Stopping COVID-19 in our communities will take all of us working together.
How Do I Get Involved?
Participants will attend a 90-minute COVID-19 education session taught by a physician from Public Health. There will be a chance to ask any questions you may have. Upon completion, participants will receive a gift stipend and a training certificate. Participants will also be invited to join future learning opportunities.
To get involved, email TK12Ambassador@ph.lacounty.gov. We will send you more information on registration and requirements.

Student Ambassador Program
The Student Ambassador program empowers students to take an active role in helping stop the spread of COVID-19 in their community. The program is open to all LA County high school and middle school students.
Students will learn ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and why COVID-19 affects some communities more than others. They will also learn how to engage peers, family, and community and share proven ways to prevent COVID-19.
How can I become a Student Ambassador?
Interested students will attend an hour long, interactive workshop lead by local doctors.
Student Ambassadors will:
- Learn about COVID-19, vaccines and other steps people can take to lower their risk of getting COVID-19.
- Get updates and facts about COVID-19
- Join weekly team huddles
- Receive a certificate of completion (looks great for college applications!)
- Receive a stipend
