The Los Angeles County Domestic Violence Council (DVC) provides leadership in the creation and support of a survivor-centered, coordinated countywide approach to addressing intimate partner violence. The DVC is housed in the Health Promotion Bureau of the LA County Department of Public Health.
NOTE: The Office of the Domestic Violence Council does not provide direct services. If you need services or support, please call the LA County DV Hotline at 800-978-3600 to reach a domestic violence agency that can help you (see information on the sidebar to the right). Also see more resources on the Hotlines & Resources page or download the Reaching Out Booklet here, a shelter provider list here or a legal service provider list here. If you have further questions, please contact us at dvc@ph.lacounty.gov .
The Domestic Violence Council holds a General Meeting on the third Tuesday of every month from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. except in August and December. (See Announcements or Agendas for other exceptions). The General Meeting features presentations and discussions on a wide variety of topics relating to domestic violence. There are also six (6) committees that meet regularly. The public is welcome to attend all meetings. Download the committee list and schedule here and scroll down to see an infographic with a description of each committee.
