Hepatitis A Infection Prevention and
Control
While vaccination is the best method to prevent infection with
the hepatitis A virus, it is also important to clean contaminated
surfaces as well as properly wash hands.
Hepatitis A Cleaning Methods:
Effective
Disinfectants and Steps to Clean Spills of Vomit and Feces
The hepatitis A virus is usually
transmitted through the fecal-oral route, either through
person-to-person contact or through eating contaminated food or water. To
prevent the spread of hepatitis A, surfaces that can be contaminated
and are frequently touched should be cleaned and sanitized. In
addition, spills of vomit and feces should be properly cleaned.
