Rabies Map 2019

Did you know?bat

Rabid bats are found every year in Los Angeles County.

So far in 2019, 50 rabid bats have been found.        2 were found at schools, 2 were at public parks, 2 were inside of homes, 35 were outside of homes, (including 3 outside of apartment buildings), and 8 were found outside of businesses. 

  1. Sierra Madre. February.  Bat found alive clinging to the wall at a school. 

  2. Monrovia.  April.  Bat found dead in the front yard of a house.  

  3. Hacienda Heights. April. Bat found alive on the ground of a mobile home park.

  4. Westlake Village. April. Bat found clinging to the side of a home in the back yard. Fell to ground.

  5. Studio City. April. Bat found alive on a sidewalk outside of several businesses.

  6. Azusa.  May.  Bat found alive on the sidewalk outside of an apartment complex.

  7. Monrovia. May.  Bat found alive clinging to the side of a home in the backyard. 

  8. Los Angeles/Hollywood.  May.  Bat found alive on the roof of a business.

  9. Santa Clarita. June. Bat found dead in the backyard of a home.

  10. Agoura Hills. June. Bat found in a backyard. Bat died later.

  11. Stevenson Ranch.  June.  Bat found alive outside of a house. 

  12. Los Angeles/West Hills. July. Bat found alive near a pool outside of a home.

  13. Los Angeles/Tarzana. July. Bat found on the street in a residential area.

  14. Santa Clarita/ Canyon Country. July. Bat found floating in a pool.

  15. Porter Ranch.  July.  Bat found alive on the cement outside of a house.

  16. Glendale.  July.  Bat found alive outside of a house.

  17. Santa Clarita/Canyon Country.  July.  Bat found alive on the driveway outside of a house.

  18. Los Angeles 90021.  August.  Bat found alive inside of a business warehouse. 

  19. Glendora.  August.  Bat found alive at the maintenance building of a public park. 

  20. Woodland Hills. August.  Bat found alive on the sidewalk outside of several businesses. 

  21. Pacific Palisades.  August.  Bat found alive in a private swimming pool at a house.

  22. Newhall.  August.  Bat found alive in the backyard of a house.

  23. Sylmar.  August.  Bat found alive outside at a business.

  24. Santa Clarita.  August.  Bat found alive in a private swimming pool at a house.

  25. Calabasas.  August.  Bat found alive clinging to the wall outside of an apartment complex. 

  26. Santa Clarita.  August.  Bat found alive in the backyard of the house.

  27. Chatsworth.  August.  Bat found alive in the backyard of a house by the pool.

  28. Glendale.  August.  Bat found alive on the front porch of a house.

  29. Santa Clarita.  September.  Bat found alive clinging to the wall at a school. 

  30. Burbank. September.  Bat found alive on a balcony in a condominium complex. 

  31. El Monte.  September.  Bat found alive on a window screen outside of the home.

  32. Santa Clarita.  September.  Bat found alive on the driveway in front of a house.

  33. Chatsworth.  September.  Bat found alive clinging to the wall near the front door of a business.

  34. Santa Clarita / Newhall.  September.  Bat found alive outside the front door of a veterinary clinic.

  47. Los Angeles 90007.  October.  Bat found alive on the sidewalk by a university. 

  48. Santa Clarita.  October.  Bat found dead on a sidewalk outside of a house.

  49. Glendale. October. A bat was found in an alley  behind a business, clinging to a wall.

  50. Northridge.  November.  A bat was found alive inside of a house on the 2nd floor.
