Health Education Administration Organizational Chart
Health Education Administration (HEA) works to strengthen the capacities of the Los Angeles County health education workforce. As a program within the Quality Improvement Division, HEA is the central health education office for the Department of Public Health working with health educators to improve the quality of health education in our communities. Our 2008/2009 priorities are as follows:1. Developing an infrastructure to promote the use of evidence based health education practice within the Department of Public Health.
- Duty Statements
- Print Materials Committee (PMC)
Developing a generic job description called a duty statement for use in programs and Service Planning Areas (SPA). This effort will standardize health education practice within the Department of Public Health (DPH).
Developing infrastructure within DPH to assure a systematic approach is used when developing, revising, accessing and delivering health education materials and messages. PMC is a committee overseen by HEA and comprised of SPA and program health educators and public health nurses, both at administrative and direct service levels.
- Health Education Network Activities
Coordinating monthly opportunities to learn and practice new skills. Activities are based on expressed needs related to health education competency areas: Needs assessment, program planning, program implementation, program evaluation, program management, advocacy, and resource management.
