February 2022 Spotlight

February is National Children's Dental Health Month and this year’s theme is “Sealants Make Sense.”

What are Sealants?  Sealants are thin coatings that when painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars) can prevent cavities (tooth decay) for many years.

Children really can benefit from sealants,  the younger (age 6) a child gets them, the better.   Sealing the back teeth (molars) shortly after they come in,  can keep a child’s mouth cavity-free from the start and for many years to come!  Ask your dentist if your kid(s) are ready for sealants this National Children’s Dental Health Month.
