Public Health Internships and Volunteer Opportunities

Internships and Volunteer Opportunities

INTERNSHIP and VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES in the Department of Public Health

Public Health has exciting internship and volunteer opportunities available for undergraduate and graduate students. These positions, all within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, will complement education with experience to best prepare candidates for the professional public health world awaiting them upon graduation.

Opportunities range from HIV epidemiology or prevention, emergency preparedness, tobacco control, women’s health, environmental health, health policy, health communications, or community health in the field. These are just a few of the topics we handle day to day. The following internship programs are some ways students can get involved.

Los Angeles County Undergraduate/Graduate Internships:

An Intern is defined as someone who wishes to receive academic credit upon completion of their hours.  Students wishing to earn academic credit in exchange for their time MUST do so through our Academic Internship Program (formerly known as C-BEEP). This program is available to undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a local County partnered school. Instructions on how to apply to an internship through the Academic Internship Program can be found at:
