Notice of Intent to Release an RFP: Nutrition Education Obesity Prevention-Los Angeles (NEOP-LA)
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit proposals for contracts with approximately 12 community based organizations, cities, and/or school districts in Los Angeles County to provide nutrition education in low-income communities. Selected providers will participate in community assessment, program evaluation, and one of three primary categories: peer-to-peer education, youth engagement, or faith-based education.
Selected providers will receive approximately $325,000 for one year, with the option to extend the term for two additional years at the same funding level, contingent on availability of funds. Proposers will have the opportunity to submit written questions regarding the RFP; details for submitting questions are included in the RFP document.

This grant program is made possible by an award received by the Los Angeles Department of Public Health from the California Department of Public Health as part of the Network for a Healthy California, a state-wide effort to create innovative partnerships that empower low-income Californians to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity, and food security with the goal of preventing obesity and other diet related chronic diseases.
