Los Angeles County Grocery Voucher Program
Background
Los Angeles County Grocery Voucher Program
The Los Angeles County Grocery Voucher program provides benefits for low-income households who need help buying food and are currently not receiving any assistance from food programs, such as CalFresh (food stamps or EBT). These benefits can be used to buy groceries at participating grocery stores. The goal of the program is to increase nutrition security (access to nutritious foods that promote health and well-being) for participating low-income households.
The Grocery Voucher program is implemented in communities that were most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, along with other risk factors as determined by the Los Angeles County Equity Explorer tool. The Nutrition and Physical Activity Program is partnering with Public Health Institute PHI to implement the Grocery Voucher program in Los Angeles County. PHI collaborates with community-based organizations to assist with implementing this program.
The Grocery Voucher Program is currently not enrolling participants.
