Community Nutrition Education

Program Description: Education for the community on best nutrition practices and Nutrition and Physical Activity Program resources and services. List of topics available in the Description of Nutrition Education List and PowerPoint Presentations.

Whom do We Serve? Our target audience includes pre-school parents, care givers, administrators, grade schools students, university students, community organizations and community centers. We also exhibit our services at community health fairs.

Program Requirements:

    A minimum of 15 participants in each class.

    Training hours are available Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

    Two week advance scheduling minimum.

Nutrition Education Fundamentals Workshop

A Train-the-Trainer model program to assist health educators in delivering reliable nutrition information to the public.

Effective Nutrition 101: Fundamentals of Nutrition   includes basic information on nutrition, such as the digestive system, macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals)


Food Label Reading and Application   understand how to read and interpret information listed on food labels

Effective Food Demonstration learn how to conduct a powerful and effective food demonstration for the community
