Why Stay Active?

Despite what you may think, exercising can be fun! There’s a reason why so many people are obsessed with it. Here are some benefits to exercising:

  • Look sexy for yourself

  • Be confident when posting pictures of yourself on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat

  • Flex those strong and toned muscles

  • Relieve stress

  • Spice up your sex life

  • Take an awesome selfie… without wanting to use a filter

  • Be the MVP in your club soccer team

  • Be a role model to your younger siblings and cousins

  • Break the cycle of diabetes and heart disease in your family

How Much Activity?

All you need is the time it takes to play your favorite song seven times! That’s at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. Make sure to get in some strengthening exercises too—read on to learn more.

It is recommended that you walk at least 10,000 steps daily to stay healthy. You can reach this goal by doing three of the activities in the next section!

Fun Ways to Stay Active

  • Go salsa dancing

  • Take a walk

  • Jog/run while listening to your favorite music

  • Play your favorite sport

  • Stand up during commercials while watching TV

Lifting weights is a great way to build strength, but what if you don’t have a gym membership? These strengthening exercises can help build strong, healthy muscles:

  • Push-ups

  • Sit-ups

  • Yoga

  • Planks

  • Squats

  • Lunges
