As of January 1, 2018, all but one case of Zika virus
disease identified among LA County residents were infected while traveling outside of California, mostly in Mexico and Central America (e.g., Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador).

Below is the CDC feed noting the locations where Zika is actively spreading.
LA County has been identified by the CDC as one of the
highest risk jurisdictions in the country for a local
Zika outbreak due to the amount of travel from Zika-affected
