Reducing Alcohol-Related Harms in Los Angeles County

Summary: This report examines the relationship between the density of alcohol outlets and alcohol- related harms in cities and communities across the county. It ranks cities and communities based on these harms (violent crimes, alcohol-involved motor vehicle crashes, and alcohol-related deaths) to compare areas within the county. Results show that increased rates of alcohol- related harms were all associated with having high density of alcohol outlets in that city or community. The Burden Of Disease in Los Angeles County: A Study of the Patterns of Morbidity and Mortality in the County Population
