Community and Field Services Division

The MLK Community Health and Trauma Prevention Center, also called the "Healing Center," serves children, families and individuals with a continuum of services designed to strengthen families and promote individual wellbeing. The Healing Center serves South LA (SPA 6), including the communities of Watts, Willowbrook, and Compton.

Available support includes mental health, substance use, and general health and wellness resources.

All activities are FREE and open to the community.

Workshops

Health and Wellness
	Nutrition Program Hosted by UCLA and Food Rx Partners offering three session group program, live food demos and culturally relevant discussions. Third Thursday  from 12:00pm - 2:00pm Click here for flyer for more information.
	Aztec/Danza Azteca Join us for an evening of dynamic Aztec dance where you will get to explore the rich cultural heritage and significance of Aztec dance. Every Monday and Thursday 6:00 -7:00pm
	Mindful Meditation Join us for a short guided meditation session designed to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and emotional wellbeing. Every Tuesday 1:15pm to 1:40pm
	Mindful Walks Join our mindful walks to bring focus and calmness. Every Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00am to 9:30am
Creative Wellness
	Beads and Bonding Explore mental health first aid awareness through Kandi bead and bracelet/perler bead making. Offering a therapeutic outlet for expression and relaxation. October 6th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm
	Paint and Sip Offered in English and Spanish. Come and learn the basics of knitting and go home with a new scarf or beanie. Please bring your supplies. Wednesday October 14,  4:30pm - 7:00pm
