About us

Quality Improvement & Accreditation Program (QIAP) is a central pillar to assist all programs within the Public Health Department to conduct an effective quality improvement program. Any effort to measure performance requires us to both define WHAT we are doing and HOW WELL we are doing it. Measuring performance is, therefore, a tool not only to help the programs assure the quality of what we do, but also to help us assure that we are doing the right things. In summary, measuring performance assures public accountability of the department’s activities by providing broad visibility on our activities and the effectiveness of our efforts.

The Quality Improvement Team (QIT) is a department-wide team created to guide program-level QI/PI processes and to develop materials and tools to assess what DPH programs are doing both individually and collectively to protect health, prevent disease, and promote health and well-being. The QI Team is led by the Quality Improvement Director and consists of a representative from each program or SPA.
