Sativa Water Quality Update
Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas along with the Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health and Fire responded to residents reporting discolored water after Sativa Water District flushed its water system. Due to the urgent need to provide drinking water and Sativa Water District’s limited capacity to respond, LA County put a plan in place to distribute water to residents who reported discolored water.
While bottled water was offered to Sativa customers, Public Health and the State Water Resources Board tested the water quality. The results of the water quality testing show that the water supplied by Sativa Water District does not pose a health risk and meets State Water Resources Board standards.
LA County will continue to work with the State to monitor Sativa and ensure the drinking water remains safe and to also ensure that if any residents continue to experience discolored water, they have access to bottle water.
To report continued water discoloration, Sativa customers can call:
Residents may also call 211 for more information.
Per Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas’ motion, County agencies will continue to investigate long-term solutions to ensure all residents have safe and clean water.
