About District Inspection Branch
District Inspection Branch (DIB) primary responsibility is to permit and inspect Restaurants, Food Markets, apartment buildings with 5 or more units and associated swimming pools, condominium grounds and swimming pools, Laundromats, Animal Food Stores, Catering facilities, and Theaters for compliance with health and safety requirements. DIB also:
- permits and inspects Massage Establishments in the unincorporated area and contract cities
- inspects Tobacco Retailers in the unincorporated area
- inspects temporary food facilities
- investigates complaints regarding health and safety violations at private homes when the problems may affect the health and safety of tenants or impact the neighborhood.
