The Data Collection and Analysis Unit is primarily responsible for the collection, processing, and analysis of birth and death data. This unit also provides statistical reports based on vital records and other health status indicators derived from other public health data for Los Angeles County.

NEW INFORMATION

NOTICE OF FEE INCREASE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2013.
ASSEMBLY BILL 1053, signed by Governor Brown and Chaptered on October 2, 2011 (Chapter 203, Statutes of 2011), authorized an increase of $2.00 for each certified copy of a birth, death or fetal death record.

**BIRTH DATA**
Data File:
For any type of birth data file(s), you must obtain approval from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Please download an appropriate CDPH application and submit the completed form to the State.
You can also contact Health Information and Research at OHIR@cdph.ca.gov for further assistance.

Tabulated Data File:
If you are interested in obtaining tabulated data file(s), please contact the MCAH Programs or call the office at (213) 639-6400.


**DEATH DATA**
DPH Requester:
If you would like to obtain death data or tabulated data file(s), please download and submit the data request form to the Office of Health Assessment & Epidemiology.

Non-DPH Requester:
For any death data file(s), you need to submit an application and obtain approval from the CDPH.
Otherwise, for tabulated data file(s), please complete and submit the data request form to the Office of Health Assessment & Epidemiology.
