The Data Collection and Analysis Unit is primarily responsible for the collection, processing, and analysis of birth and death data. This unit also provides statistical reports based on vital records and other health status indicators derived from other public health data for Los Angeles County.

NEW INFORMATION

Certificate of Still Birth
Effective January 1, 2008, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Vital Records Office will issue a Certificate of Still Birth upon request of a parent (mother and/or father). This certificate does not replace the fetal death certificate. For more information, please click here.

Electronic Death Registration System
The California Electronic Death Registration System (CA-EDRS) was implemented in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Pasadena on October 1, 2007. For more information, please click here.
