Low Vision & Blindness Among Adults in LA County

Alzheimer's Disease

The LA County Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association, recently released 2 reports showing the growing number of persons with Alzheimer's disease in the county and the sheer number of family caregivers providing support to these individuals. For Professionals: Guidelines for Alzheimer’s Disease Management
California Workgroup on Guidelines for Alzheimer’s Disease Management releases its latest report and clinical practice guidelines for health care, social services, and community support organizations. The guidelines call for early stage detection, promotion of continuing function and independence, and maintenance of brain health through risk reducing strategies such as physical exercise, cognitive stimulation and psychosocial support. In 2004, Alzheimer’s disease was the 8th leading cause of death in Los Angeles County. To read more information, click here
