The Health & Aging Services unit (formerly known as the Geriatric Special Services program)
supports the use of family-centered, community-based approaches to the delivery of a range
of quality services that allow older adults to maintain independence within the least
restrictive environment. The unit identifies, networks, and collaborates with public and
private services to enhance community and social programs for older adults in the county.
The Health & Aging Services unit also serves as the liaison to the Los Angeles County Department
of Health Services and other departments within the County of Los Angeles.
