Disease Maps

Tracking and mapping animal diseases is important in monitoring both animal and human health. Some diseases, such as rabies, may be transmitted from animals to people and pets with serious consequences.

Other diseases, such as the fungal infection coccidioidomycosis, are not passed from animals to people, but both can become infected from inhaling the dust that contains the fungus.

There are other diseases, such as heartworm infection, that do not infect people, but are important to track as they may be increasing and infecting local animals.

This data is intended to be a useful reference for local veterinarians, physicians and the general public.

Please read more about these and other diseases by following links on our Animal Disease Information Page here.
