LOS ANGELES – On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health officially premieres a new series of videos titled “Sister Friends: Get PrEP’d” at a community event hosted at the California African American Museum at Exposition Park. Produced as part of Los Angeles County’s innovative GetPrEP LA Campaign (getprepla.com/women), the videos are intended to raise awareness among women about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (or PrEP), a pill taken daily that is up to 99% effective at preventing HIV infection when taken consistently.
