The health care providers under the jurisdiction of Health Facilities Division (HFD), includes Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF's), Skills Nursing Facilities/Intermediate Care Facilities (SNF/ICF), Home Health Agencies (HHA's), Hospice, Congregate Living Health Faciliteis (CLIFFS), Intermediate Care/Developmentally Disabled-Habiliative (ICF/DD-H), Intermediate Care/Developmentally Disabled-Nursing (ICF/DD-N), General Acute Care Hospitals (GACH's), Chemical Dependency Recovery Hospitals (CDRH's), Acute Psychiatric Hospitals (APH's), End Stage Renal Dialysis Facilities (ESRD's), Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASC's),Referral Agencies, and certain types of clinics, licensed or certified by HFD. - What is the difference between Board and Care Faciities and
Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally retarded?
Answer: Group homes, Board and Care Facilities are licensed by the Department of Social Services Community Care Department and not Health Facilities Division (HFD). The only category of group home that HFD has oversight responsibility are Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled (Habilitive/Nursing) and Hospice Facilities.
