The mission of the Oral Health Program of Public Health is to plan, implement, and coordinate all public health interventions that will prevent the diseases of the oral cavity in Los Angeles Countys residents. In addition, the Dental Director and the staff Public Health Dentist in the Oral Health Program provide the leadership role in the field of dental public health in Los Angeles County. Currently the staff is focusing on public water fluoridation, prevention of Early Childhood Caries (ECC), and increasing the access to the dental care for residents of the County.
