CAPTCHA is an acronym for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart". We are currently using CAPTCHA to try to prevent automated mass submissions via any of our public forms, which in turn helps prevent spam. By typing in the code that you see in the image, you give us some proof that you are indeed a human submitting a comment, as opposed to a script sending hundreds of spam comments.
