Member Channels
Membership: Recruits new members who are interested in improving the lives of children and families in LA County. Conducts the yearly membership survey to better understand the needs of our members. Identifies new opportunities that align with the Collaborative vision
Mini-Grants: Solicits, reviews, and approves yearly applications for LA County-based projects, contingent on funding.
Professional Development (Education): Serves the needs of the LA Collaborative membership by providing educational opportunities and seeking dynamic speakers for trainings, events, and quarterly meetings.
Media & Communications: Creates and maintains LA Collaborative promotional materials and works with the Regional Media Specialist to promote activities to the media and public.
Healthy Schools & Families: Provides resources to educate, engage and inspire school staff, parents, and community partners to promote healthy environments.
Healthcare Insurers & Providers: Provides training opportunities to providers, clinicians and staff. Educates patients and clients.
Child Care: Educates and supports child care providers in providing nutrition and physical activity training as a component of parent and caregiver education. Supports consistent messaging related to nutrition and physical activity to families, providers & children.
Community Based Organizations: Advocates to improve access to affordable and healthy foods & beverages, and safe places to play. Offers advocacy training to interested community members. Educates stakeholders on the need to increase access to healthy food & beverage options for community members.
