Children's Power Play! Campaign Description

The Network for a Healthy California--Children's Power Play! Campaign was formed to increase fruit and vegetable consumption; have a positive, long-term impact on the eating habits of children; decrease future risk of chronic illness; increase children's nutrition knowledge and increase physical activity. The message is simple – to encourage 9, 10 and 11 year olds with limited resources to eat the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables and be physically active for better health and active lifestyle.

This material was produced by the California Department of Public Health, Network for a Healthy California, with funding from the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly the Food Stamp Program). These institutions are equal opportunity providers and employers. In California, food stamps provide assistance to low-income households, and can help buy nutritious foods for better health.
