About Measles

Measles is one of the most contagious diseases caused by an airborne virus. This virus lives in the nose and throat of an infected person and can rapidly spread to the rest of the body, affecting the lungs, the brain, and other organs. The virus spreads easily through the air when a sick person breathes, talks, coughs, or sneezes.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health created this digital toolkit to assist partners in communicating about measles prevention and to inform the residents of Los Angeles County about measles and how it can be prevented. The toolkit was designed to make it easy to distribute information through your own websites, social media, newsletters, and printed materials. The toolkit contains materials in English and Spanish, and other selected languages.
