Overview
In response to an April 15, 2025 motion by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the Department of Public Health is launching a new soil testing program. Up to $3 million from the Lead Paint Hazard Mitigation Program has been allocated to fund free soil lead testing for residents living within and downwind of the Eaton Fire burn area.
How It Works
STEP 1
Reference the target map below to view areas within and defined as downwind of the Eaton fire. Soil samples can be submitted for testing even though they may not fall within the squares on the map.
STEP 2
Follow the Soil Sampling Collection Procedures carefully to collect your soil sample.
STEP 3
Print and complete the Soil Sample Submission Form and include it with your soil sample.
