Public Health continues to work diligently to update and strengthen our plans to address Ebola. These proactive steps include informing the media and public and providing guidance to health care providers, hospitals, outpatient facilities, and others.

10/28/14 - Press briefing with Congresswoman Maxine Waters, City of Los Angeles - Los Angeles World Airports, the LA County Department of Public Health, and other local elected officials and key stakeholders regarding Ebola screening and response protocols at LAX. 10/24/14 - Public Health provided an update regarding Ebola preparedness, what air passenger screening means for LA County, and what people can do to help manage stress or anxiety related to news about Ebola. (Location: LA County Department of Public Health Headquarters]  VIDEOVideo

10/17/14 - Partnering with Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on an Ebola preparedness exercise to provide health care workers there with the opportunity to practice what they would do in the event a person with Ebola is admitted to the facility. (Location: Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center)

10/15/14 - Staging a Media Roundtable & Press Conference for news outlets so they can provide the public with the latest info. (Location: LA County Department of Public Works) 

10/12/14 - Public Health was informed of an LAX passenger with symptoms that could require transport to a local hospital. Communicable Disease staff quickly arrived at the airport to assess the situation and determined that the patient was not at risk of having the Ebola virus or infecting others.
