To maintain a healthy diet, you donít have to give up your favorite foods! Itís just a matter of how much you eat and how often you eat it.

Tips to Eat Healthy

  • Eat breakfast! Youíve heard it before, ďbreakfast is the most important meal of the day.Ē If youíve been sleeping 7 to 9 hours, your body needs energy to start the day. Click here for healthy breakfast ideas.

  • Eat the rainbow. Your body needs many vitamins and minerals in order to work. Eating a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables can help your body get the nutrients you need.

  • Take a multivitamin every day to supplement the vitamins and minerals in your diet.

  • Donít fear fat. Not all fat is bad. Foods like avocados, nuts, and olive oil, have healthy fats which are an important part of your diet.

  • Limit the not-so-healthy foods. Fries and cupcakes are delicious, but are not healthy choices. Enjoy these types of foods, just donít do it more than once or twice a week. Try snacking on carrot sticks as a replacement for fries.

  • For bigger muscles, eat protein. Want to bulk up? Protein can help muscles grow and recover after a workout. Foods high in protein help you feel fuller for longer periods of time. Lean meats, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts are great sources of protein.
