The Center facilitates interactions among researchers, policy
makers and community based providers from various disciplines
and institutions who are concerned about weight, health and
food insecurity, and promotes collaboration on projects between
professionals and members of diverse communities.
The Center for Civic Partnerships is a support organization
that strengthens individuals, organizations, and communities
by facilitating learning, leadership development, and networking.
AAHPERD is an alliance of six national associations, six district
associations, and a research consortium which support healthy
lifestyles through high quality programs.
The California Center for Physical Activity is a champion for
creative solutions to increasing everyday activity in California
and serves as an expert resource for California physical activity
partners. The Center also helps communities create more walkable
and bikeable neighborhoods.
The California Healthy Kids Resource Center was established
to assist schools in promoting health literacy. Health literacy
is the capacity of an individual to obtain, interpret, and understand
basic health information and services and the competence to
use such information and services in ways that are health enhancing.
The National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity's mission
is to unite the strengths of public, private, and industry efforts
into collaborative partnerships that inspire and empower all
Americans to lead more physically active lifestyles.
Team-Up for Youth promotes the healthy development of young people by strengthening and expanding after-school sports programs serving low-income young people.
