Early Childhood Development

Many children with developmental delays and disabilities are identified too late to receive appropriate services during the preschool years. This impacts their ability to learn and reach their full potential.

  • Early Identification and Intervention Group
CHI is an active member of the Early Identification and Intervention Group (EII), an educational and advocacy organization. EII’s goal is to ensure that all children in Los Angeles County get good developmental screenings—early, often and with a high quality screening tool—and that children who have developmental delays or disabilities receive appropriate services. In early 2005, EII announced it was teaming up with First 5 Los Angeles to form the Early Developmental Screening and Intervention Initiative Strategic Partnership. This initiative will provide funding for coordinating and implementing a learning collaboration among a broad range of health and social service providers.
