Health Education Materials Development and ReviewHealth Education Administration (HEA) is pleased to announce the implementation of a health education materials review process beginning in March of 2008. You will find the following tools and more in the manual which you can download below:
- Evidence based guidelines for creating health education print materials
- An introduction to the Print Materials Committee (PMC)
- A description of PMC's review criteria and process
- Contact information to help your program or SPA get needed services
Beginning March of 2008, PMC will systematically review and revise the fact sheets currently posted on the Public Health Nursing Administration website. Additionally, PMC is available internally for all Department of Public Health Programs and Service Planning Areas (SPAs) to review any English language brochures, pamphlets, or fact sheets your program or SPA has developed.
The PMC’s review tool can be utilized externally, but please contact us at HEA@ph.lacounty.gov prior to usage.
Please be aware that the entire process, including the community review process, will take approximately two months to complete. For more information please see the review process manual below.

Health Education Material Inventory
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Health Education Material Inventory includes all of the print health education materials available by health topic. The inventory includes:
- The contact person and information listed for each of the County programs that offer the materials
- Type of material (brochure, poster, cling-on, etc.)
- Languages available
- How to request them
