CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

CONFERENCE GOAL:
To commemorate National Health Education Week by showcasing effective health education practice throughout Los Angeles County and recognizing service provided by the Los Angeles County health education workforce.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES:

  1. Define health education practice.

  2. Discuss the implications of Healthy People 2020 and Public Health accreditation on health education practice and adolescent health.


  3. Identify evidence-based health education strategies for addressing HIV/STD, LGBT, and injury and violence prevention issues among adolescents.


  4. Present awards to LA County health education staff.


  5. Develop a network of health education practitioners.
