"Health Service Delivery and the
Impact on Our Population's Health"
The Department of Health Services (DHS) split from the
Department of Public Health (DPH) in July 2006.
The split did not limit collaboration between both
departments. During this meeting, Fernando Bravo
and Stella Quan from the LAC+USC Medical Center
highlighted DHS' efforts to inaugurate the new LAC+USC
Medical Center. Dr. Amy Wohl from the HIV
Epidemiology program also provided an overview of a
HIV-related study that collect data from HIV service
centers throughout LA County. All presenters
discussed how health education staff members within DPH
can help support their efforts within DHS.
