The Pandemic Influenza Unit serves as the
County’s central coordinating office for developing and maintaining the
county-wide Pandemic Influenza Plan; is responsible for managing CDC and
State grant resources aimed toward enhancing the County’s readiness;
develops strategies to increase preparedness and mitigate morbidity and
mortality; develops plans and actions to reach special need populations
requiring assistance during public health emergencies including outreach
to non-English speaking persons, elderly, families with your children,
foster care families, people with disabilities and unincorporated areas;
serves as community liaison to engage private business, community
organizations and others in planning for public health emergencies;
and provides information and technical assistance to public and
private entities.
