Demographic data
The U.S. Census Bureau collects and reports data on population counts, age, race/ethnicity, income, and other demographic characteristics.
Additionally, the California Department of Finance maintains state demographic data (primarily for planning and budgeting).
Hospital Discharge Diagnoses
Patient discharge data is collected and acquired from the California
State Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). The
frequency of hospital discharges for Los Angeles County may be obtained directly from OSHPD.
Physical Fitness
The California Department of Education collects data from physical fitness testing on all public school students in grades 5, 7, and 9 (California Physical Fitness Testing Program)
