The U.S. Census Bureau collects and reports data on population counts, age, race/ethnicity, income, and other demographic characteristics.
Additionally, the California Department of Finance maintains
state demographic data (primarily for planning and budgeting).

The California Department of Education collects data from physical fitness testing on all public school students in grades 5, 7, and 9 (California Physical Fitness Testing Program)
