Clinic Physician, Community Health Services (part-time, per session) This position serves as a clinic physician in the tuberculosis and sexually transmitted disease clinics across various Service Planning Areas in the Community Health Services Division. The clinics are composed of teams of highly skilled and energetic clinicians, public health investigators, and administrators whose work informs and guides the County's progressive response to communicable and non-communicable diseases. Chief Physician I - Area Medical Director This position serves as the Area Medical Director in the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Community Health Services (CHS) Service Planning Areas 7 & 8. Service Planning Areas (SPA) 7 & 8 are composed of teams of highly skilled and energetic clinicians, public health investigators, and administrators whose work informs and guides Los Angeles County’s (LAC) progressive response to communicable and non-communicable diseases. This position serves as medical advisor to the Area Health Officer on all matters relating to clinical medicine and is a member of the SPA Leadership Team. Under the direction of the Area Health Officer (AHO), the Area Medical Director (AMD) plans, manages and evaluates medical programs aimed to deliver prompt and effective services to SPA residents while ensuring compliance with the highest medical and public health standards. Physician Specialist - Chief of HIV Surveillance This position serves as the Chief of HIV Surveillance Section in the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Division of HIV and STD Programs (DHSP). The HIV Surveillance Section is composed of a team of highly skilled and energetic clinicians, researchers, epidemiologists, and administrators whose work informs and guides Los Angeles County’s (LAC) progressive response to HIV. This position serves as liaison to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) HIV Surveillance Branch and will be expected to represent the Department on all aspects of HIV surveillance. The Chief will serve as a local expert on laboratory and provider reporting, evolving laboratory technologies, and the timely use of surveillance data to enhance HIV case management efforts. The Chief of HIV Surveillance will also actively participate in the Department’s efforts to develop and implement an integrated disease surveillance platform to monitor reportable diseases including HIV, gonorrhea, and syphilis.
