The Administrative Support Services Section of
Children's Medical Services
(CMS) is comprised of three areas: Financial Eligibility,
Special Projects, and Facility Management.

Financial Eligibility:
is responsible for determining the financial and residential
eligibility of California Children's Services (CCS) applicants, based on preset eligibility criteria of the State Children’s Medical Services Branch.
This area is comprised of 21 employees. The staff conducts approximately 1500
telephone interviews with potential CCS families per month. They also assist
clients with Healthy Families and modified Medi-Cal
applications, and linkages to other state and federal programs.

Special Projects
is responsible for the coordination of projects such as, Building
Evacuation Committee, Public Health Disaster Committee, Countywide
Integrated Radio System Drills, Public Health Alternate Emergency
Command Center, Building Fire Drills, and the Quarterly American Red
Cross Blood Drives. One Administrative Assistant and a Senior Typist
Clerk head this unit. The functions of this unit assists in
the administrative support of the CMS infrastructure.

Facility Management,
the major responsibility of
this unit, is over site for maintenance; parking; grounds upkeep;
security; telephone system repair and installation;
purchase/rental/lease/repair of furniture and certain equipment, and
cleaning, of two building that house approximately 1,400 County
employees from three different County departments. This unit
leans administrative support to the CMS program and is managed by an
Administrative Assistant, Staff Assistant II, and a Senior Typist
Clerk. |
