Do I need pediatric experience before I apply to CCS? |

For staff level occupational therapist (OT) and physical therapist (PT) positions prior experience is not needed.
CCS provides extensive training for new employees. For supervisory positions, prior experience is required.

Will I have someone to mentor me? |
| |
 |
Each new employee is given a four week intensive training period under the
close supervision of an experienced clinical instructor. After this initial training,
therapists are assigned to a designated site where continued mentoring is available.

As a new graduate, what would my starting salary be? |
| |
 |
New staff OT’s and PT’s will receive a starting salary of approximately $69,075 annually.
Your exact compensation will be confirmed at the time of your employment.

Will I have to work weekends? |
| |
 |
CCS employees work only weekdays. No evening or weekend work shifts are required.

| |

Will I have the opportunity to collaborate with other rehabilitation professionals? |

Staff therapists participate as members of a rehabilitation team that include orthopedic surgeons,
pediatricians, OT's, PT's, nurses, social workers, nutritionists, orthodontists,
equipment providers, outside agencies, school personnel, and families.

Are there continuing education opportunities available? |

CCS provides up to $500 and 40 paid hours per year for therapists to attend
continuing education events. In addition, CCS sponsors study groups and
trainings throughout the year.

As a student, how can I request a clinical education/fieldwork placement? |

 |
CCS provides training for occupational and physical therapy students at all levels
of clinical education. Arrangements must be made through your university's Clinical Education Coordinator.

Are families involved with their child's treatment? |
| |
 |
CCS encourages family centered care. Families are invited to be present for each
evaluation. Many parents attend treatment sessions on a regular basis. Therapy goals
are set jointly with the family and most CCS patients have home exercise programs
that are carried out by the family.
