Vacancy Notice for the Physician Specialist position in DPH and DHS Physician Specialist
Clinic Services (DPH) and Ambulatory Care Network (DHS)
Department of Public Health and Department of Health Services

For DPH Clinical Services, the physician will work in the tuberculosis and/or sexual health clinics. They will join a team of highly skilled and energetic clinicians, nurses, and field investigators whose work informs and guides LAC’s progressive response to communicable diseases. They will report to the Medical Director of Clinic Services at DPH.  

For DHS, the physician will work in the Ambulatory Care Network’s (ACN) adult primary care clinics. They will report to the Primary Care Director at their clinic. This is a full time, in-person position. It requires split clinical time in two or more separate locations in Los Angeles County depending on service needs.  Hours are M-F 8am-4:30pm, with potential for evening and/or weekend hours.

Senior Physician, Environmental Health Division, Vacancy announcement Senior Physician
Environmental Health Division

The Senior Physician is a licensed physician who has completed a residency approved by an American Specialty Board in one or more designated specialties or equivalent training; and who reports to a Chief Physician. The Senior Physician evaluates toxicological information related to environmental chemical exposures, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information to the public and other stakeholders to prevent/ minimize adverse health effects, provides technical guidance and support on environmental exposure and health outcomes, develops policies and procedures for coordinating resources during toxic environmental emergencies, formulates policies and plans and directs the programs and medical work of the section or assists in such activities for a division of a medical department, performs administrative duties, examines, diagnoses, and prescribes treatment for patients and reviews the care prescribed by staff physicians, resident physicians, and interns, and confers with consultants regarding care of patients and medical and diagnostic work performed, and coordinates the work of consulting physicians with the work of the section.
