  Welcome to the MLK Community Healing and Trauma Prevention Center

The MLK Community Healing and Trauma Prevention Center, also called the "Healing Center," serves children, families, and individuals with a continuum of services designed to strengthen families and promote individual wellbeing. The Healing Center serves South LA (SPA 6), including the communities of Watts, Willowbrook, and Compton.

Available support includes mental health, substance use, and general health and wellness resources.

All activities are FREE and open to the community.

About the MLK Healing Center
History: The MLK Healing Center was designed and programmed with input from the Willowbrook Community Action for Peace Coalition. The MLK Healing Center was established by DPH West and South LA Regional Health Office in collaboration with the Office of Violence Prevention's Trauma Prevention Initiative team in the Fall of 2018. The Healing Center has become a trusted and safe community space to promote healing and increase access to trauma prevention and intervention services.

Goals: To work closely with community residents and partners to develop a space to promote healing and increase access to trauma prevention and intervention services.

Infant and Maternal Mortality Community Action Team
The South Los Angeles/South Bay African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Community Action Team (SLA/SM AAIMM CAT) is a collaborative partnership with the goal of ending African American/Black infant and maternal mortality in the South Los Angeles/South Bay community.
