MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Membership and Activities

MAC Membership

The MAC is comprised of medical and public health experts, representing diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, genders, and areas of expertise. The MAC has consumer representation, to address the “real world” concerns of recipients of OAPP HIV services.

Issues reviewed by the MAC is at the discretion of the OAPP Medical Director. Prior to each meeting the involvement of each member will be evaluated to determine the potential for a conflict of interest.  A member may not participate in a discussion, if the issue should provide the member with a potential for personal gain.

MAC members, with the exception of OAPP staff, possess voting privileges. While MAC discussions, recommendations, and voting outcomes are considered by OAPP, they do not bind OAPP to any decision or course of action. Final decisions will be determined by the OAPP Medical Director.
