Hepatitis A and B Vaccination Resources
If you have health coverage, contact your regular
health provider to ask about hepatitis vaccination. For
high risk individuals, including men who have sex with
men, people with multiple sex partners, and people with
chronic liver disease, vaccine is usually covered by
insurance.
In Los Angeles County, you have several options
available for free or low cost Hepatitis A and B
vaccination.
1)
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Men's Wellness Center
2)
LA Gay and Lesbian Center (LAGLC) Sexual Health
Program
3) LA County STD Clinics
4)
LA County Immunization Clinics. Be sure to
call ahead for immunization clinic hours and to make
sure they have adult hepatitis A and /or B vaccine
available.
5) Visit www.HIVLA.org
and enter the keyword “vaccination” for more information
on community clinics in Los Angeles County that offer
vaccine.
Hepatitis A and B can cause serious liver disease, but
both diseases can be prevented by getting vaccinated. If
you have ever started the vaccination series, it’s never
too late to complete it, and you never need to start
over.
