The Senior Physician leads SAPC’s Field Based Substance Use Services Team. This role involves administrative and clinical leadership, managing team members and assignments, and ensuring that SAPC’s Field Based Substance Use Services Team’s operation improves access to clinically appropriate substance use services. The Field Based Substance Use Services Team will also provide consultation, training, and technical assistance for LA County’s existing multidisciplinary teams, street medicine providers, and street psychiatry programs to improve access to medically necessary and clinically appropriate substance use services for LA County residents experiencing homelessness in the largest and one of the most diverse counties in the nation.

Vacancy Notice for the Physician Specialist position in the Clinical Support Branch, Division of Medical & Dental Affairs Physician Specialist

Division of Medical & Dental Affairs

The Physician Specialist will serve as a vital member of the Clinical Support Branch within the Division of Medical and Dental Affairs, reporting directly to the Branch Director. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the electronic health record (EHR) system. As a key leader of the Branch’s Clinical Quality and Risk Management Unit, the position will assist with policy development, quality improvement reviews, and health center audits, and support efforts to respond to new regulatory requirements. The position will also deliver direct patient care services in DPH clinics or mobile health services, provide on-call Duty Officer coverage, and as needed, act as a secondary provider for Employee Health Services.

This is a full-time position located in downtown Los Angeles. A hybrid telework schedule is available, requiring a minimum of three days a week in the office or providing direct patient care
