• 26.0% of children in grades 5, 7 & 9 are
obese.
• 26.6% of adults are obese.
DIABETES:
• 11.0% of adults were diagnosed with
diabetes.
CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE:
• 25.3% of adults were diagnosed with
hypertension.
• 30.5% of adults were diagnosed with
high cholesterol.
• 7.5% of adults were diagnosed with a
heart problem.

This report summarizes the leading causes of death and premature
death with trends for 2000-2009. It also provides information on
deaths from a wide range of health conditions, including chronic
diseases, such as heart disease and emphysema; infectious diseases,
such as pneumonia/influenza and HIV; lifestyle-related conditions,
such as diabetes and lung cancer; and intentional and unintentional
injuries. |
